About

Research shows that over 50% of adults have suffered from one or more Adverse Childhood Events (ACE), affecting both their mental and physical health. Recognizing signs of past trauma in patients and using Trauma-Informed Care helps decrease the chance of a Behavioral Emergency and helps patients have a better overall experience. Asking "what happened to you?" instead of "what's wrong with you?" creates an atmosphere of trust and empathy that helps patients trust their providers better.
