About
safeTALK is a three hour suicide alertness skills training open to all community members 15 and older. The course will use audiovisuals, presentation, and practice to help anyone be more alert to signs of suicide risk and become the catalyst to care, linking a person with thoughts of suicide to someone able to work through an intervention. They received a national certification and can apply for CEUs.

Amy Woods has volunteered for The Sarah Michelle Peterson Foundation for many years as a Board Member. In 2023, she accepted the position of Program Coordinator after retiring from her position as Director of Religious Education for the Diocese of Richmond. Amy has educated young and old for over 27 years. She is a certified trainer of safeTALK, Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR), and Soul Shop. She is also trained in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
