About
The development of evidenced based EMS practice has been a growing component of EMS. Many providers find themselves answering surveys, collecting information, and completing forms for research studies. They are exposed to the terms quantitative, qualitative, human subjects, experimental, quasi-experimental, and others that are outside of their experience. This lecture will introduce EMS providers with the basic format of research, the differences between qualitative and quantitative studies, human subject protection, and from where the money comes. The content is intended to meet the National Core Competency Requirements for EMS research.
