During this one hour talk, learners will review the key physiologic principles behind hypoxia in the critically ill. In turn, they will learn different modalities at both the BLS and ALS level to combat hypoxia and gain the skills and knowledge to prevent peri-intubation (RSI) hypoxia in the pre-hospital environment.

Dr. Adrian Proumen is a board-certified anesthesiologist. He currently serves as a staff anesthesiologist, Division Officer for Trauma Anesthesia, and Associate Program Director. He completed his medical education at VCOM– VA (2019) and anesthesia residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2023. He has been involved with EMS since 2009 with multiple local agencies and currently serves as an MD02 for the VBEMS.
