Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) devices are heart pumps that move blood from the heart to the body, during this lecture we will discuss MCS and Durable LVAD and your roll in care and management and will include some hands-on practice with the VAD equipment.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Mindy is a registered nurse with 22 years of nursing experience, mostly in cardiac. She has been a coordinator with the Advanced Heart Failure Program for 15 years, and assumed the educator roll 4 years ago. She is certified in Transplant and VAD and uses her experience and knowledge to provide VAD education to a variety of audiences both inside the hospital and out in the community.
