About

We can all be placed on this philosophical EMS highway. As a student, you may be packing your bags for the trip while, as a veteran of the service, you may be preparing for arrival at your destination: retirement. In between these two capital cities is a professional highway we must travel down. Our generational differences may determine whether we’re in the fast lane passing others or in the slow lane, playing it safe and non-innovational. Regardless of what lane we find ourselves in, tollbooths are present all throughout this highway creating bottlenecks and slowing down the entire profession. Join us as we discuss our differences, how they influence our speed down the highway, and how to find detours around the tollbooths

Franklin County EMS, NC

Justin Preddy, BS, Paramedic, has had a dream of becoming a paramedic since the ripe age of 7 years old. Achieving that dream at 19, he then had to ask himself how else he can contribute to the EMS profession beyond his initial dreams. Justin earned his master of health science degree from Western Carolina University in 2024. Having served in various roles, Justin is a strong advocate for the advancement of the EMS profession and strengthening the values for which made EMS his dream job.
