Continuing Education

How can I get my CEUs to recertify?

Every prehospital care provider knows to continue as an EMT, Advanced, Intermediate or Paramedic, there are a certain number of classes to take and a certain number of hours that must be dedicated to training and education.  Although there are a number of companies that offer paid and free virtual classes, many providers seek in-person classes featuring new and innovative content.  It is the mission of TEMS to facilitate opportunities for providers to attend such classes. This goal is achieved in two different ways.

Class Instruction

TEMS Staff is made up of experienced providers on all levels and can offer their expertise on a wide variety of topics and subjects.
The TEMS Regional Educational Coordinator can serve as an instructor for CPR, PALS, ACLS, MCI I, MCI II, AMLS, PHTLS and Handtevy.

Class Coordination

The true educational benefit TEMS provides is the ability to marshal resources to provide learning events.

The Quarterly Tidewater Education Experience (QTEE) is training provided by Tidewater EMS (TEMS) Council for all levels of regional providers. This training provides attendees with state-approved Continuing Education (CE) credits. During the first month of each quarter (January, July, October) TEMS will host an in-person half or whole day training event, based on content covered. Class size can vary based on time and content. The 2nd Quarter training will be replaced by the Tidewater Healthcare Education Expo (THEE), which takes place in May.

The Tidewater Healthcare Expo is training hosted and organized during the month of May by the Tidewater EMS Council (TEMS) for all levels of regional providers. This training provides attendees with state-approved Continuing Education (CE) credits. This six-day event centers on providing dynamic, interactive, and forward-thinking training to all levels of providers ranging from EMT to Nurse.
