Virginia Department of Health Announces Regional Respiratory Fit Testing Train-the Trainer Courses
The Virginia Department of Health will be providing regional Respiratory Fit Testing Train-the Trainer courses to ensure that Health Districts/Medical Practices have staff qualified to provide respirator fit testing. The attendee will be able to train others in the proper procedures for fit-testing.
Dr. David Wilder, Public Health Physician from Fairfax County Health Department will instruct attendees. The course will take approximately two and one-half hours with the following objectives:
- Develop and maintain an OSHA-compliant respiratory protection program
- Use respirators to limit exposure to infectious respiratory agents
- Properly fit-test a N-95 respirator and train others on the procedures
The course will be held on the following dates and locations:
- March 25: Harrisonburg
- March 26: Northern- tentative (location cancelled and we are looking for an alternate)
- March 31: Chesapeake
- April 3: Dinwiddie
- April 6: Lynchburg
- April 7: Wytheville

Advance course preparation for the Train-the Trainer course requires attendees to:
