Federal grant available - Fire departments and nonaffiliated EMS organizations are eligible to apply for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG). This grant is for equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other resources necessary for protecting the public and emergency personnel. EMS 3.0 Transformation Summit is April 10 - Learn the strategies to successfully expand your agency’s services to provide the full spectrum of out-of-hospital patient care – emergent, urgent and preventive. EMS Day on the Hill is April 11 - State representation at Hill Day on April 11, 2018, is very important to ensure that members of Congress representing a state will be visited by those EMS constituents attending Hill Day. EMTALA info during disasters - This four-page fact sheet from TRACIE (Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange) addresses several frequently asked questions regarding the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) and disasters, and provides links to resources for more information. Questions include if EMTALA can be waived in an emergency or disaster, and how hospitals can comply with EMTALA in a disaster or emergency.
